PRODUCT INFORMATION

How do I care for my Mulberry Silk Products?

Silk is more robust than you’d think – we wash ours in the machine on a low heat setting (30/40). If you like, you can hand wash your silks or use the Delicates cycle on your washing machine. Preferably use special washing liquids that are designed to care for your precious silk items. Detergents in the supermarket that are for handwash/woolens and delicates.

Your silk items will air dry very quickly and naturally. You can use a gentle iron using the low heat Silk setting to finish. We don’t recommend using fabric softener. Never bleach.

What size is your silk pillowcase?

Our pillowcases are 50cm x 75 cm or 20” x 30” and fit a standard size or queen size pillow. They have a generous tuck to ensure that your pillow is kept snug and secure and hidden.

What are the benefits of sleeping on a silk pillowcase?

Silk is recommended by doctors, dermatologists, beauticians and hairdressers for help with skin, hair, and menopausal symptoms. Its natural hypoallergenic properties make it a must for many conditions.

Hair benefits

The natural anti-static qualities of mulberry silk ensure that your hair experiences less friction and therefore less frizz-free when you wake up – no more bedhead. A silk pillowcase helps maintain the freshness of your blow-dry and extend the life your salon styled hair. Maintaining a cool scalp ensure the comfort and health of your hair.

Skin benefits

Silk naturally protects your skin and it doesn’t draw moisture from the skin and prevents dehydration. Silk is an animal protein; its long smooth natural fibers are woven tightly together to prevent moisture loss to the skin. Sleeping on silk is a great option to maintain moisture in your skin and help avoid wrinkles. You will wake up with smoother skin and less pillow creases than with a cotton pillowcase, which dries skin more. Beauticians we speak to can tell which clients sleep on silk by the lack of wrinkling and dragging on the skin.

Help for hot flushes at menopause

The natural cooling properties of silk will help you to maintain your cool at night if you are experiencing night sweats. You will always find a cool spot on your pillow and we find that we sleep much more soundly on our lovely luxurious silk pillowcases. Just add an eye mask and you’re in blackout heaven.
